    Introduction from Eficode welcoming to the session

    We will focus on unlocking the full potential of GitHub Copilot by addressing common rollout challenges and demonstrating advanced usage techniques. Many organizations adopt Copilot but fail to maximise its benefits due to a lack of understanding, insufficient training, or unrealistic expectations.

    Key discussion points include:

    • Breaking down Copilot – Understanding the tool’s capabilities, including Copilot vs. Copilot Chat, Copilot Extensions, and Copilot Edits.
    • Context awareness & prompt engineering – Learning how Copilot interprets context and how to craft effective prompts to generate high-quality suggestions.
    • Expectation management & learning curve – Recognizing that adoption takes time and that different developers may experience varying benefits.
    • Security & trust – Addressing concerns about data flow, model selection, and responsible AI usage.
    • Developer experience – Exploring how Copilot adapts to different workflows and skill levels to enhance productivity.

    The session will feature live demonstrations, practical insights, and discussion on best practices for integrating Copilot into development workflows. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how to use Copilot effectively and tailor it to their individual or team needs.

    In this session, participants will engage in hands-on exercises designed to break down GitHub Copilot into its core components. The exercises will focus on understanding Copilot’s technical capabilities, including Copilot vs. Copilot Chat, context-awareness, prompt engineering, and Copilot extensions. By working through practical examples, attendees will learn how to optimise their workflow and identify the best ways to integrate Copilot into their daily development processes. The retrospective will encourage reflection on challenges faced, knowledge gained, and areas for improvement.

    A chance to network, discuss insights from the first session, and grab some exclusive GitHub swag. This informal break allows attendees to recharge and connect with peers and Eficode experts.

    Participants will explore how Copilot adapts to different development styles and how trust, security, and workflow adoption play a role in maximizing its benefits. The retrospective will provide key takeaways to help developers and teams make Copilot a valuable part of their toolkit.

    Beyond Copilot, this session dives into GitHub’s enterprise-level features. Topics may include security and compliance, policy management, and workflow automation within the GitHub ecosystem. The focus will be on how GitHub Enterprise supports AI-driven development, enhances collaboration, and integrates with existing DevOps processes.

    A final discussion to address any remaining questions and provide additional insights into GitHub Copilot’s capabilities. This session will also highlight best practices for Copilot adoption, training strategies, and resources for continuous learning. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how to leverage Copilot effectively in their development workflow.
